Essential Oil Safety
Please use caution when working with essential oils. We do not recommend that they are applied directly to the skin. We have included information below to assist you in formulating your skincare products.
When incorporating essential oils into an adult cosmetic formulation this is our recommended percentage per body zone.
During pregnancy women can be highly sensitive to scent and there are some essential oils that should be avoided. We recommend consulting a professional before you choose to use aromatic ingredients.
When including essential oils into baby skincare products we recommend the following percentages based on the child’s age. The above body zone recommendations should also be considered.

There are limited essential oils recommended for use in children’s products. The first three that are mild enough to use are Lavender, Chamomile Roman and Mandarin. Once the child is older than 6 months you can look to include some other relatively gentle oils such as Cedarwood, Orange Sweet, Lemon, Geranium and Neroli. Over 2 years old you can start to introduce highly functional oils such as Frankincense, Patchouli and Ylang Ylang.
If unsure, please always consult a professional.
