Boost Your Concentration with Essential Oils

Trying to study for uni exams? Putting together a huge presentation for work? Just want to finish that book you started months ago?

In a world filled with distractions, staying focused and maintaining concentration can be challenging. Who's guilty of picking up their phone to quickly scroll insta, or heading to the kitchen to make another cup of tea? *raises hand*

Well nature has a powerful tool that can play a significant role in enhancing your focus - essential oils!

These plant-based oils, known for their wide ranging benefits, can stimulate the mind, clear mental fog, and improve your attention span. Here’s a look at some of the best essential oils for boosting concentration and productivity.

Peppermint oil: With its fresh, invigorating scent, Peppermint is a popular choice for mental clarity. Studies suggest that inhaling this vibrant oil can enhance memory and increase alertness, making it perfect for tasks that require sustained attention.

Rosemary oil: Known to stimulate the brain, Rosemary essential oil is often associated with improved cognitive function and sharper memory. Diffusing Rosemary or applying a diluted drop to the wrists before studying or working can boost mental clarity.

Lemon oil: The zesty aroma of Lemon oil is refreshing and uplifting. Lemon not only lifts the mood but also promotes mental alertness, making it ideal for long workdays or late-night study sessions.

Lavender oil: While primarily known for its calming effects, Lavender can help reduce stress and anxiety, clearing mental clutter. Reduced stress allows for better concentration and focus on tasks at hand. Just don't use it when you are super sleepy as you might end up napping on your desk!

Cedarwood oil: This grounding oil can enhance focus by stabilising your emotions, promoting calmness, and reducing stress. Cedarwood oil is particularly beneficial when concentration is impacted by anxiety or overwhelming emotions.

To use any of these essential oils simply add a few drops to an electric vaporiser, or blend with your favourite carrier oil for topical application. You can even take a quick inhale directly from the bottle.
