Emotional & spiritual benefits
Patchouli is a grounding oil that helps to bring you back to earth in times of confusion, distraction and distress. It sharpens the mind, brings clarity and helps to maintain a rational outlook. It is useful when you are feeling apprehensive or dejected and balances your energy. In low doses, it has a relaxing effect, but can be stimulating when used in large amounts.

Cosmetic benefits
As it has a cooling action on the skin, Patchouli can soothe skin that is inflamed, rough and cracked. It is known to help regenerate tissue and promote new skin growth, so it is helpful for scars, stretch marks and to minimise the signs of ageing. It is a healing oil, so could be used where there are sensitivities, including the scalp. Perfect for dry, sensitive and mature skin types.

Formulation types
Patchouli is ideal for use in body products such as body butters, lotions, oils and balms, bath products and body washes. It can be used in facial moisturisers and spot treatment oils. Its resonating scent lingers on the skin and is often used in natural deodorants and earthy natural perfumes. It can be used as an intriguing base note in essential oil blending, bringing femininity and complementing a wide range of Citrus and Floral oils when used in a low percentage.
