Natural Balm Base Recipe
Description
A nutrient rich anhydrous balm. It has a soft texture that can be customised to create your own unique lip balm, foot balm, massage balm or chest balm.
Ingredient | Amount | Description |
Castor oil | 45% | Nourishing, soothes dry & chapped skin. |
Coconut oil | 20% | Rich in vitamins, highly protective. |
Sunflower oil | 18% | Moisturising, light consistency, stable. |
Beeswax | 15% | Protective, humectant & skin softening. |
Vitamin E Natural | 2% | Anti-oxidant, softening, soothes & cools. |
Step 1: Combine Carrier oils and Beeswax in glass vessel. Stirring gently with a spoon, heat to 70°C. Beeswax will have melted to a clear liquid.
Step 2: Slowly cool to approx. 55°C, add Vitamin E and mix thoroughly.
Step 3: Once mixed, pour balm into jars and allow to cool slowly to room temperature.
Please note: some re-melting could be required as the balm will semi-solidify easily, this will not damage the balm’s structure.
